The Soldier’s Tale
This production of Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale brings together the Arts University College at Bournemouth and The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s new music ensemble Kokoro. It is performed in a space developed by Bournemouth Borough Council for South West Dance
The production is in every sense a collaboration in which mutual interests in the arts are enhancing the cultural offer to our communities and providing a platform to demonstrate the variety of arts performance.
In 2009 the Arts University Bournemouth initiated a series entitled text + work which underpins our exhibition and creative events programme. This performance of The Soildier’s Tale forms part of text + work and the essay by Steven Pratt, composer and Professor of Music at Liverpool Hope University, provides a critical text to accompany it.
