Artisan Workshop - Traditional Woodland Crafts - Summer 2023

Students joining this exciting and truly artisan summer workshop will be transported back through time on a journey of exploration and learning from human pre-history right into the 21st Century. Centred around traditional woodland practices and trees, this highly informative, intensive, and practical workshop focusses on providing students with a solid understanding in green wood-working and the multitude of associated woodland crafts this offers. 

Set in some of Dorset’s beautiful woodlands, students will explore and gain a deep insight into the understanding of trees, wood selection, including traditional coppicing techniques and crafting tools. During the course students will also be introduced to and take part designing and fashioning their own piece of bespoke furniture, mainly conducted on location in carefully managed woodland.
