WoodworkWoodworkSAS - Woodworking - Maker Workshop Summer 2022/23DescriptionOn this course our young artists will be guided to use a wide variety of woodworking hand tools safely and effectively. They’ll develop fundamental skills and techniques relating to woodwork and will leave each session with a sense of pride and an imaginative creation made from their own hands. Each week you’ll undertake a different wood-based construction project and learn the relevant skills as you go. You’ll be shown how to transform your ideas and designs into real-life pieces with confidence. The projects you’ll work on give you the opportunity to use your imagination and be creative. In fact, we encourage all our young artists to develop their own creative voice and let this shine through in their work. Projects you’ll undertake include character building, bird houses, flowerboxes, chopping boards and vehicles. Woodworking gives you the chance to develop vital life skills as well as practical and creative ones. You’ll enhance your spatial awareness, be encouraged to use your reasoning and critical thinking skills, practise patience and build your focus. Plus, you’ll develop problem solving skills, improve your understanding of mathematic concepts and most importantly grow in confidence! |
