Portfolio Preparation

This practical course has been specially developed for budding artists aged 14–16 who are at a stage where they wish to prepare their artwork and portfolio for the next exciting step in their creative journey, which may include applying to study art and design subjects at school, college or university – perhaps a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design or an Undergraduate degree. Students don’t need to already be applying for creative courses, we just ask that students come with lots of enthusiasm and ideas!  

On this course students will be guided to develop their portfolios and gain confidence in displaying and sharing their work. Each week our young artists will learn new skills in portfolio preparation, using a range of equipment and techniques that are vital in the art world and creative industries.   
 

Subjects and skills covered will include drawing, printmaking, photography and illustration, as well as covering fundamentals such as colour and composition and exploring surface and texture.  

 We understand how important young creative artists are – they've so much potential, untapped abilities, and enthusiasm. On this course they’ll be supported to fully explore their creative talent and how best to display and share their ideas and completed work.
