SAS - Modelmaking - An Introduction - Autumn 2023/24

This new course has been specially developed for young model makers, lovers of 3D, artists and those taking their first steps in the vast and exciting subject that is Modelmaking. This course is aimed at students aged 12-15 years and provides a valuable and specialist insight into the world of modelmaking. Each 8-week term offers brand new projects providing students with the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of materials and gain confidence with making and creating unique work.

Each week students will learn a variety of new skills in modelmaking using specialist equipment, materials and techniques which are of industry standard. Students don’t need to already be expert makers, all we ask is that students come with enthusiasm for learning new things, creative ideas and some old clothes you’d don’t mind getting messy in!

Course tutor, Sophie Perkins, will guide students through set exercises each week, alongside demonstrations and presentations of prepared examples from sculpting, casting, moulding and much, much more!

We at AUB understand how important young creative artists are in having so much potential and with so much ability and enthusiasm, students will have support and guidance from their dedicated tutor and course assistant to fully explore their creative talent and future potential as a modelmaker.
