Word Matters Too

Word Matters Too marks the second occasion that text+work has had a presence at the International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Stemming from a partnership between ArtsSway, a contemporary art gallery in the New Forest, and the Arts University at Bournemouth, the Word Matters seminars, first held in 2007, sought to investigate links between contemporary art and its surrounding text.

In Word Matters Too writer Gemma Seltzer leads a discussion alongside Professor Stephanie James on the role and presence of narrative in contemporary art, with a focus on the artworks presented in ArtSway’s New Forest Pavilion.

The publication is a transcript of the event where the Work of by Jordan Baseman, Hannah Maybank, Alex Frost and Dinu Li are discussed.

Published by text+work, The Gallery The Arts Institute at Bournemouth 2009 (Now formally the Arts University Bournemouth) in association with ArtSway.
