Sentinel South
Sentinel (South) is a project that examines and explores British Second World War pillboxes and their potential to act as cameras and provide a unique perspective on the British landscape by artists Martin Neweth and Pippa Oldfield.
In this text+work publication Oldfield looks at the project in the context of war photography whereas in Newth’s essay he discusses movement and stillness. The publication includes 15 plates from the exhibition and several reference images.
Pippa Oldfield is a writer and Head of Programme, Impressions Gallery, Bradford. Martin Newth is an artist, Photographer and Programme Director, BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London.
