Liz Wells curates Facing East, a collection of contemporary landscape photography from Baltic areas. Facing East, work by 16 artists, encompasses a range of aesthetic strategies and thematic concerns.

The publication includes an essay which elaborates on the influence that the dissolution of the soviet union has had on the thematic and aesthetic decisions of landscape photographers from the Baltic region. It also explores the genre of landscape as ‘the cultural representation of space and place,’ as curator Liz Wells states.
