Come Closer

Curated and written by Bob Cotton and Jim Campbell, Come Closer explores the work of Squidsoup who combine sound, physical space and virtual worlds to produce immersive and emotive headspaces.

Squidsoup presents two new artworks Come Closer and Ghost. These allowed participants to take active control of their experience, exploring the modes and effects of interactivity, looking to make digital experiences where meaningful and allowing creative interaction to occur.

In an essay which contextualises Squidsoup’s work in contemporary New Media research and development, Campbell suggests that by encountering unfamiliar experiences within the white cube an audience can actively engage in a creative analysis of cultural behaviours.

The publication comes with 3D glasses to enhance the reader’s experience.
